Asiatica Flamelights

Below are a range of table flamelights based around the plug-in Firelamp unit. The Firelamp can be purchased separately if you just want the flame-making element (e.g. to bring to life an unused fireplace) or as part of a complete lamp when housed in these shades of bamboo, rattan, twine and coconut leaves. The Fire Lamp

The basic flamelight unit that goes in all of our table models. Useful on it's own if you just want a flame without an external housing, such as in an unused fireplace. Now with an all but silent fan - barely a whisper !

The Firelamp (and all the models in which it is used) comes with a special red/amber bulb which shines red upwards and then goes into amber and yellow at wider angles. This gives a variation in colour-shade to the flame, rather than having a single, flat colour.

Red LED Firelamp

This version of the Firelamp has been specifically designed for use in Fireplaces, their most common home. The standard Firelamp gives a nicely fluttering flame with flickering firelight all around the inside of the opening but what it has been missing is that red hot glow down at the base of the fireplace.

The addition of a string of red LEDs around the lower part of the Firelamp gives this glow and it is most effective when the red LEDs are partially obscured by logs, twigs, coals etc. (what you want to see is the glow, not the individual LEDs). If the pinpoint red light from the odd LED shows through its surroundings, you can plug the hole with a small piece of teased-out cotton wool to diffuse the light into a glow.

Low Vase QRC 003

Coiled rattan fibres surround a low bowl and showing the full flame.

Rattan Chains QR 005

Similar in shape to the Bamboo High Tower but with regular rattan coiling around a straight-sided frame. A bit like chain mail.

Short Hedgehog Lamp HHL 001

Bamboo sticks arrayed in alternating lattice layers. Might make a nice puzzle if you drop it - not recommended.  Click on the picture for a better look at it.

Tall Hedgehog Lamp HHL 002

The original short version of the Hedgehog Lamp was so popular that we thought we'd milk it a bit.  This tall version has worked out very well indeed - quirky and very spiky. 

Teardrop Lamp TRL 001

The same rattan fibre as the Rattan Chains and Low Vase - this time in a teardrop shape with a little teardrop window. Ahhh..........

Bamboo High Tower QRB 001

Flared bamboo spines woven with bamboo fibre around a metal frame.

Iron Rings QIR 009

Varying sizes of iron rings balanced together and interspersed with a few amber gems.

Chessboard Lamp CBL 001

Alternating light and dark interlaced strips of bamboo form the walls - likewise, light and dark strands of twisted paper make up the roof.

Round House RH 001

A nice little summer house for the Firelamp !  Wound string forms the walls whilst the roof is made from twisted paper twine.

Spare 12V 8W Red Amber Bulb

This 12V 8W dichroic red/amber bulb is used in all the plug-in table flamelight models. (Please don't use a bulb of higher wattage than 10 watts or you will burn out the transformer in very quick time.)

Spare Twin Yellow Flame

This bit allows you to buy a spare standard yellow flame for use in all of the Firelamps, wall-mounted and plug-in flamelights. Sorry, the Firelamp flame looks pants here but we had to use the flash on the camera to show the flame colour.

Bamboo Basket QRB 004

Nice rattan basket-work with bamboo spines rising to an apex above the flame.

CoCo CC 001

Made from coconut leaves and standing a little under two feet (55cm) in height, this model is supplied in conjunction with the Firelamp which is then to be fitted inside. This is quite a discreet flamelight - the flames are set fairly well down inside the lamp with the tip of the flames being visible between the coconut leaves. Best viewed from a downward angle for this reason.

High Vase QRC 002

Inter-woven rattan fibres than close in at the top to catch the flickering firelight reflecting from its coils.
