We really like these ones. With new materials and new designs we try to show the full flame-effect of the Firelamp, with its highly realistic flame and the fiery flickering firelight it produces on any surface it falls on. Terracotta pots are a great medium for this, it's like looking into a pizza oven - the flamelight makes the insides look hot enough to cook in! The cut patterns around the pots allow the fluttering flame to be seen but partially obscured, adding to the mystery of the lamp. For ease and flexibility of use, the Firelamp and its terracotta shade are supplied as separate entities (but both are included in the price), rather than being connected to each other. This allows the Firelamp to be used in other settings at other times. There is a choice of the standard Firelamp or the Red LED Firelamp - for details, please have a look at the top two items that come up when you click here. The difference is that the Red LED Firelamp gives you the red glow that shows through the holes in the base of the lamp - this just fills the whole lamp with hot fire, rather than just the top two-thirds. All the images below next to each lamp entry show the lamp with the Red LED Firelamp. To show the difference, the two pictures beside this commentary show one with and one without the red LEDs. All the lamps are the same price - the Red LED Firelamp will add a fiver to the cost. Although the lamp looks as though it should be used outdoors, the Firelamp is for indoor use only and the terracotta shade isn't weather-proof - don't leave them outside in the rain. |
